Meet Gene Dexter, our esteemed Wine Specialist at Charlotte Restaurant and Lounge. With over 40 years in the hospitality industry, Gene’s journey began at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles as a runner and banquet server. Since moving to Seattle in 1993, he has dedicated himself to the study of wine, continually learning and growing in the ever-evolving world of wine culture.

In the early days Seattle’s Northwest restaurants emphasized ongoing wine education and for Gene this commitment to learning never stopped. He approaches his work with the curiosity and enthusiasm of a newcomer ensuring that every bottle he selects for Lotte Hotel Seattle reflects a balance of exciting new discoveries and timeless classics.​

Gene’s philosophy is simple: Good is good. In a world of dynamic wine trends, he embraces the unknown, constantly seeking the best selections to offer guests at Charlotte. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or a casual enthusiast, Gene’s approach ensures that each glass at Lotte is filled with the finest choices.
